Welcome to Carlos Gilbert Elementary School!

Our school is as unique as the city of Santa Fe itself. With our location downtown, we are able to provide our students with an abundant cultural and educational experiences unique to Santa Fe. Our school population is reflective of that diversity consisting of Hispanic, Anglo, Native American, Asian, African-American and Pacific Islanders in a small population of just over 330 students. We offer a rigorous academic curriculum, and encourage students to be involved in extracurricular activities, during school and after school, including band, choir, cello, girls and boys basketball, wrestling, cheer leading, swimming, and Girls on the Run. We are fortunate to offer Chess Club, Young Astronauts Club, Scripps National Spelling Bee and Geography Bee. Aspire after school learning program offers child care until 5:30 p.m. Our dedicated Parents, Teachers, Kids (PTK) organization, fund raises to pay for grade level enrichment programs such as: National Dance Institute (NDI), yoga, acting, and cooking classes. We also have a cadre of volunteers who donate their time regularly to enhance learning for students. Educating the future leaders of the world!

Superintendent Dr. Veronica C. Garcia visited our school to wish us a great year! See more photos here.
